What is CrossFit?
CrossFit is a comprehensive strength and conditioning program that is effective for any committed individual, regardless of age, gender, or experience. We use the same program for everyone, from elite athletes to middle aged house wives and grandparents. The program is scaled to match the individual’s needs and abilities. At Crossfit Renaissance, you are all athletes in training.
What do we do?

-Constantly Varied, Functional Movements, Performed at high intensity.
-Each day we perform a different WORKOUT OF THE DAY (WOD). Variety is the key. Routine is the enemy. We keep the body guessing so that it never fully adapts to the demands of our exercise program, and athletes can expect fitness to improve for years.
-We perform a wide range of functional, full body movements. We perform only functional movements because they are the BEST! They work the most muscles, burn the most calories, and most importantly, they work the body as a unit. Functional movements improve quality of life by teaching the body to move efficiently and effectively, preparing the body for life’s daily rigors. These movements have withstood the test of time and guarantee results!
Exercises include but certainly not limited to:
- Squat Variations, Deadlifts, Shoulder Presses, Bench Presses
- Olympic Lifts: Clean & Jerk, and Snatch Variations
- Traditional Calisthenics, such as pull-ups, push-ups, sit-ups, etc.
- Gymnastics: Handstand push-ups, Dips, Muscle-ups, etc.
- Traditional Cardio, including Running, Rowing, Jump Rope
- Plyometrics
-Each WOD is performed at high intensity relative to the individual’s ability. Why?
Because high intensity training is the only way to get GREAT results. No athlete
has ever achieved greatness without training with intensity. These workouts will
build more muscle, burn more fat, and improve overall fitness better than any
workout program you have ever tried.
What Makes CrossFit Renaissance So Different?

-At CrossFit Renaissance we train in small groups. Group training is beneficial because it fosters a supportive and challenging environment where everyone is united in the pursuit of improved fitness.
- Our classes are small enough to ensure that every member gets personal attention from a certified coach. Most people cannot afford a personal trainer, but here you basically have one every day. We make sure everyone is safe and are learning the movements correctly. We are also there to push you towards achieving your goals.
How Do I know I’m Making Progress?

-Each week you will see and feel your progress. But that is not enough. CrossFit is “evidence-based” fitness. Therefore, each of our members has a training log to track progress. After every workout the trainee records the date, weights used, and/or time it took to perform the workout. Every time you repeat a workout, you get to see your progress by the numbers. And numbers don’t lie! You will be amazed by the results!
Where did the name CrossFit Renaissance come from?

A renaissance man is defined as a person who is skilled in multiple fields or multiple disciplines, and who has a broad base of knowledge.
In CrossFit we aim to be renaissance men and women of fitness. We want to do it all and do it all well. We want to be prepared for the unknown and the unknowable.
How Do I get started?
Sign up for and complete the Beginner Course. This will consist of 4 classes that will introduce you to the 9 foundational movements of CrossFit and the main types of workouts we do. These 9 movements are basically the primary colors of CrossFit. The goal of this course is to teach you how to do the movements safely and effectively. This is your foundation.
