In 2016, overwhelmed by 50-hour work weeks and the demands of being a mom to 4-year-old twins, I saw an ad for a New You Challenge at CrossFit Renaissance. At the end of my No Sweat Intro, I said “I will think about it.” and got up to leave. Before I reached the door, I turned around, took a bet on myself, and put my credit card down on the table. That decision transformed my life. I quickly discovered that this gym wasn’t like all of the others I had tried in the past. The combination of personalized coaching, high energy and diverse group classes and the always challenging CrossFit programming had me hooked. I felt stronger mentally and physically – pushing through hard workouts taught me resilience and boosted my confidence. By prioritizing my health for the first time in years, I felt like a better mom, wife, daughter, and professional. Inspired by my personal journey and transformation, my purpose became clear – I wanted to help others feel strong, confident and happy. I left my corporate career in 2017 to become a coach at CrossFit Renaissance and later launched the Renaissance Youth and Renaissance Nutrition programs. I worked closely with CFR’s founders, Bill and Joyce Shiffler, who taught me to lead with a client-focused approach. In 2022, my husband Brett and I took over ownership of CrossFit Renaissance. We are honored to continue the 15 year legacy of delivering life-changing results in the Port Richmond neighborhood. 8 years after walking into the gym, I feel the same way about CrossFit and our amazing coaches and community at CrossFit Renaissance. I am still hooked! I am never bored, and I love discovering what my body is capable of as I age. My sights are set on an active and independent life into my 70’s 80’s and 90’s. With CrossFit, I know it’s possible! I believe health and fitness is the spark that can empower individuals to pursue their dreams and ultimately transform our community. I hope you will join us! #strongertogether
