Tell us about you sports & fitness background: I played sports including football, wrestling and lacrosse through high school and I played football through part of college.

How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? Take us back to your first WOD… what was it, and how did it feel?

I was first exposed to CrossFit through a friend and from there it just took off. I am not positive of my first WOD but I know that I definitely was sore for a couple of days!

What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting CF (before/after)?

Before CrossFit I had progressively gotten in worse shape from college. After starting I immediately started to see gains in my Olympic lifts and overall strength. I had reached almost 400 lb. body weight. Since I have fairly steadily improved my overall health and my weight has come down almost 40 lbs. and continues to drop.

What sort of changes in your life have you experienced out of taking on something like CrossFit that were totally unexpected?

I have increased energy that goes on through the rest of my life. I have little or no days where I feel “lazy” and my overall activity level has gone up.

Please share with us any favorite CrossFit / CFR moments:

Dropping an overhead squat and coming right back in a metcon to set a top 5 score.

Any advice for people just getting started?

Just do it, the pain will go away!

What are your hobbies, interests and/or talents outside of CrossFit?

I am an avid sports fan and enjoy catching football and baseball games whenever I can.
