Meet Erin, who has been with us for almost 2.5 months.  Erin came to CFR to live a healthier lifestyle, lose 20# and sustain the weight loss, increase energy levels, and to be able manage stress of a busy lifestyle.   We asked Erin to share her experience with us:

  • Why did you join CrossFit Renaissance?
    • To be healthier and a good example for my family. I wanted to feel stronger and have more energy. I really wanted a life overhaul!
  • What’s been your biggest accomplishment?
    • Finishing what I start and trying things I didn’t think I could do before. I push myself now. I feel confident instead of intimated. Even if I can’t do something as it is prescribed, I still push beyond my comfort zone.
  • What are you working on now?
    • I am always working on something, which says something in itself! Mainly endurance while jogging and I want to keep nailing that box jump! I am always working on my form.
  • What’s your favorite CrossFit Renaissance memory?
    • The draft was so fun! The first time I did a box jump and when I was able to add more weight to the bar are also big standouts for me!
      • The Draft is part of an annual competition related to the CrossFit Open.  CFR runs an intramural Open when we split the gym into three teams.  This year’s Draft was our first attempt at a game of Quizzo.
  • What motivates you to continue training at CrossFit Renaissance?
    • The staff!  They all modify things for me, if needed, and work with me. I love the fist pumps I get at the end of a work out by other members and the coaches. The encouraging environment means more to me than I can effectively put into words.
