CrossFit Renaissance Working out

Jenn Frame

1. What brought you to CrossFit Renaissance?

Ed (a.k.a. “Hey Ed”) did. I’ve always been into fitness and was always looking for something better and more challenging. He knew I would love it, so he bugged me until I finally caved and came in. He was right….he usually is.

2. What was your first impression?

Watching Ed, Siri, and Danny do Turkish Get-ups, I had no idea what they were doing or why, but I wanted to badly to jump right in and try it.

3. Has that changed?

Nope, not one bit! I’m still just as eager to jump right in and luckily, with CrossFit, there is always something new to learn.

4. What are you currently working on?

Currently I am working on walking handstands. I am terrible at them!

5. What is the toughest part of CrossFit, for you?

For me it’s mental. I constantly struggle with my thoughts. Afraid I won’t make the lift or maybe I’m going to fall doing a Snatch or a handstand. From the beginning, Bill has said to me “Get out of your head!”. I’m still working on that.

6. What is your favorite memory at CrossFit Renaissance?

Getting my first rope climb. I never climbed a rope in my life, but got it on the first try. I was brand new and didn’t know anyone. It felt good to be able to do something, since I sucked at everything else.

7. How long have you been doing CrossFit?

November 2015 will be 2 years for me. I kick myself for not listening to Ed earlier. I love my CrossFit family!!

8. What kind of results have you seen, both physical and mental?

As far as results go….I work in a hospital and do a lot of lifting. Many of the patients weigh more than I do. I’ve noticed a huge difference when moving them. I’m stronger. I can feel and see it. CrossFit is a stress reliever for me, as well. It helps me focus and keeps me sane. I honestly don’t see my future without it.
