The lifestyle we lead today is often stressful, chaotic and fast. Days turn into months in the blink of an eye, and all those things we intended on doing, are now just part of a long, never-ending “to-do list”. How did we get to August already! I feel like I was just unpacking my summer wardrobe! I meant to start taking better care of myself. I even set a date. Does this sound familiar? Where does the time go?
Why is it we feel like we have to put a start date on our goals? Why not now? Start where you are right now! That was my thought process a few years ago after realizing that my “start date” would never come. I used to fall into the same old habits, over and over again, with the same outcome.
Yes! I said “used to”! What’s changed? I walked into CrossFit Renaissance and signed up for classes. I chose to do something for myself, right then and there. I fought the urge to say, “I will get back to you on (insert future date that will never come)” and began right away!
Fast forward a few years, and here I am wanting to continue my journey with you. Still the same person, but a better version! I am stronger, happier, more productive, less stressed, & more energetic. And I want that for you!!! I want that for everyone!!
Yes, my schedule is still crazy, as a single parent of three, with one full time job and one part time gig. But now, when I say that out loud, there’s no sigh. There’s a giggle and a look of pride! Often times, we set a goal to begin next week, or Monday, or January 1st and our schedules just get loaded with things we have to do for everyone else, that our “start date” gets pushed back or even forgotten. It is time to treat yourself, so that you can take better care of your loved ones, so that you can be the best version of YOU, a happier, healthier, stronger, productive, stress-free, energetic YOU!
