Back in for week 2 of 4 on the press. The press is mainly an upper-body movement, but it also requires tremendous core strength. Want a mean set of abs? Focus on the press! There’s a reason those old olympic weightlifters (From the 60’s and 70’s, when the clean and press was still in the Olympics) had some thick and strong abdominal muscles. Focus on staying tight throughout the movenment and getting that big belly of air before each rep.
Today’s conditioning is a classic time-specific WOD, in this case the AMRAP format. This one is from the 2013 CrossFit Games Open and will really push your heartrate up, if you hit it correctly. Choose weights that allow for this. The overhead movement will be the limiting factor for most. Go crush it today!
